Surprise 26th Birthday Party for Hubby
For these pass few weeks, I've been pretty busy and super secretive....
Mem... what am I up too??? *Grin*
I'm throwing Dear Dear a surprise birthday party!!!
Believe it or not, for so many years being together, I've never once gave Dear Dear any birthday surprises at all...
Only gotten him presents for his birthday or even worse Nothing!
During his 25th birthday last year, we didn't celebrate and I didn't even bought him any present!
Although Dear Dear kept on assuring me that it's ok and he's happy just as long as I'm with him...
Still I can't help but to feel so so guilty and for being such a bad wife...
So this year, I'm going to make it up to him :)
And the secret mission had begun as I needed to do everything hush hush... *Shhh*
1st I needed to choose a present...
Decided to get Dear Dear a notebook as he had been bugging me for months to let him buy one for himself.
Seriously, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to computer stuff...
I needed to seek help from the professional badly...
Thanks to my two expert friends: Alex and Daniel, they found me two wonderful notebooks :)
Acer Aspire One D150-1920 and ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005HA.
Now all I had to do was to choose one of these... What a tough choice to make!
In the end, I've chosen the ASUS notebook as it comes with a free travel kit hehehe...
Here comes another problem... As I'm using my own pocket money plus I don't have my own USA account, so I needed to ask someone to make payment for me 1st.
I've asked Amelia for the favour and she was very sweet helping me making the payment... Thanks alot girl :)
And to play safe, I needed to ship the notebook to Alex's apartment as Dear Dear would be working night shift for the week.
I certainly don't want the mail man came knocking on the door and Dear Dear's the one receiving the parcel, then my surprise would be ruin...
Dear Dear's birthday day falls on October 13th and I'm a little concern that the notebook might arrived late, as I've placed the order on October 1st (needed to minus off the weekends and public holiday)...
But guess what... my parcel arrived much early then I expected (arrived on Oct 6th)! Wow~ UPS super hardworking man hahaha...This was a perfect timing as I'll be planning the surprise party on October 9th!
I quickly started to wrap the present once I've collected the parcel from Alex, and it's hide and seek time!!! hehehe...
I've hidden the present in our closet and behind boxes of my new clothes. 'Cause I'm 100% sure that Dear Dear would never go through my stuff and so my present would be safe hiding there LOL...
Next, I've decided to set the venue at our cosy little home...
As I've always have the whole house all to myself and it'll be more easy for me to plan and set up everything...
Dear Dear told me that his working shift had changed to morning shift on Friday (October 9th). Therefore, I've decided to plan the surprise on Friday, as Monday was a public holiday and he'll be taking day off during his birthday on Tuesday.
So a surprise on Friday the 9th sounds pretty good :)))

On Thursday night, I purposely ask Dear Dear if he's upset about the "no present, no celebration again" for this year birthday to test water hehehe...
While holding me in his arms he replied, "Nah... How can I be upset when I've already gotten the best present in the world, and that's you... Just as long as you are with me, I'm the happiest man in the whole world..." and he kisses me on my forehead :)
Ain't he sweet... Already can't wait for Friday to come and see his expression when he had seen the surprises I've in store for him hehehe...

I've been bugging Dear Dear to let me used the car on Friday, and he was feeling kind of weird on why I needed to use the car particularly on that day. Luckily, he didn't suspect I was up to something in my sleeves hehehe...
On Friday, I've woke up at 9am to start decorating the house when Dear Dear was off to work. As promised, he left the car for me to use while he car pool with one of his colleague.
Didn't want to spend a bomb on the decoration, so I've used some of my scrapbooking stuff to do the letters and numberings. Have also dug out the Xmas lightnings which we gotten it on last year after Xmas sale, and the Happy Birthday banner was from the Dollar Tree shop.
Then I've put up the decorations in our living room's window and... Tada~ not too bad right? hehehe...
The weather was not so good in that morning as it was raining... Luckily my prayer was heard, once the rain had stopped I quickly drove out to collect the birthday cake from Mozart, get some grocery for the dinner and some balloons from Dollar Tree shop.
It's was about 1.30pm when I've reached home and I needed to finish up the rest of the decorations asap...
Again, I've used some of my scrapbooking stuff and handmade a birthday cake together with some ribbons and the balloons. This time round I''ll be putting up the decorations at the fireplace...
Lastly, I've done a handmade stand up menu, also bought a table cloth and candles for the birthday cake...

I've never once cook any one of them before - my very 1st attempt, wanted to cook something special for him and hopes they'll turn out good hehehe...
Finally with all the decorations done, it's time to start cooking and it's 4pm already. Needed to act fast now...

Dear Dear was home around 6 plus... When I heard him unlocking the front door, I quickly dashed out of the kitchen (and yes, I still haven't finished my cooking yet) and yell "SURPRISE!!!", once he had entered the house.
He was a bit shock for that moment, and was like "what's going on here?". But after he saw the decorations, he held out his arms with tears in his eyes, asking me if these were all for him and said that he wanted to cry...
I quickly ran into his arms, gave him a kiss on the cheeks and said, "Yes... and I hope you like it... Happy Birthday Dear..." At that moment I felt like crying too...
I'm a bit surprise when I saw his eyes turning red and there's tears in his eyes, as Dear Dear doesn't cry that easily... Guess that my surprise had indeed touched his heart :)

Then I'm back to my cooking again and it took me more than 4 hrs to finish everything... Really felt like cooking "ma han quan xi" for the emperor man... Super exhausting!
I've gotten a little surprise from Dear Dear too :) Once I've finished the cooking, Dear Dear told me to close my eyes and he led me into the bed room. When I opened my eyes, I saw glow in the dark sticks being form into star, LOVE and arrows! The arrows were pointing to my side of the bed, so that during the night when I needed to go to the bathroom I'll know my way and wouldn't bump into anything... Dear Dear was so so thoughtful and I love it!!!
A bubble bath was just perfect before our dinner...
Wanted to look nice for Dear Dear so I put on a dress... and it's photo shooting time!!!
My cooking was a success too!!! So proud of myself hehehe... Also a big thank you to Amelia for giving me some of her curry leaves, else I can't prepare for the Oatmeal butter fish :)
Dear Dear wasn't a dessert fan but he love my mango sago as the sweetness was just perfect for him hehehe...
After Dinner, Dear Dear was asking me about the "surprise" in the menu...
I told Dear Dear that he needed to put on the eye mask 1st and naughty Dear Dear kept on peeping what I was doing. I warned him if he tries to peep again, his surprise would be confiscated and it works like a charm LOL...
With Dear Dear being blind folded, I went to get his birthday present from the hiding place and set up the cake...
Dear Dear was soooooo touched again :)))
I did video down during this moment, but not sure why he suddenly acted so faked when the camera was turned on LOL... and so I'm wouldn't be posting the video.
I've asked Dear Dear what he had wished for, but he said it was a secret and that he's very greedy, wishing for another 3 more wishes on his 3rd birthday wish hahaha... He so cheeky right?
And so it's time to unwrap the present, I asked Dear Dear if he likes the present and he said he doesn't like it but he love it instead!!! Yeah~
The birthday surprise was a huge success!!! Seeing Dear Dear being so touched and happy, although it's tiring and I've killed some of my brain cells while planning the birthday surprise LOL... But it's all totally worth it :)))
